April has been a busy month! I’ve managed to keep going with the 100 day project, which has really been helping me create a huge range of unique colours from 4 primary colours, black and white. I’m really enjoying the new routine of mixing colours, creating the palette, doing a play sketchbook piece and then creating a series of work. It’s been all about the pinks this month!

These are some of the new pink skies collection. I’ve also sourced some lovely, high quality white and black solid wood frames as an extra option for my original artwork (UK shipping only!).

I’ve also been busy putting together an online exhibition with over 40 artists and makers which is live until the end of May.
MY BIG REALISATION THIS MONTH! This was a lovely sunset walk around our neighbourhood – I felt so full of inspiration! Moody clouds and a sunset! In recent months, when I haven’t been to the sea for a while, I’ve really felt like I’ve need a battery top up because the sea is so important to me. However, since doing the 100 day project and creating new colour palettes, it’s really made me look and notice when I’m out walking around the block at the way the sky changes and the flowers and trees change colour. I’ve realised that I’m very easily inspired and my nature top up can happen in a 10 minute walk if I mindfully take in my surroundings. Mother Nature really does have the best colour palette ideas! What will you notice next time you go for a stroll?

What I’ve been watching – I really loved the film ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’- a beautiful film showing the journey of an abandoned child to artist. So good I watched it twice!!
What I’ve been reading – ‘Big Stone Gap’ – this is actually a reread for me of one of my favourites books. Written by Adriana Trigiani about a single middle aged woman who has lived in a Virginia mining town her whole life but discovers a family secret which rocks her world. It’s also the first in the series if you fall in love with the characters like I did!
